APPROACH
At DC Area Moms, I wrote and edited with one core goal: help parents feel less alone.
My articles blended lived experience with practical support—offering crafts for long afternoons, local ideas for getting out of the house, and reflections that named the emotional realities of caregiving. I aimed for writing that felt like a trusted conversation: honest, specific, and encouraging without being prescriptive.
As editor, particularly during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, I helped shape a steady cadence of relevant, timely content. Reviewing five articles per week, I refined drafts for clarity and warmth, ensuring each piece met readers where they were—overwhelmed, searching for ideas, or simply needing reassurance.
The result was content that strengthened community connection during an isolating time and created a digital space where parents could find both solutions and solidarity.
