APPROACH
I approached writing and editing at PBS KIDS with one guiding belief: caregivers don’t need more noise—they need clarity, relevance, and ideas they can use today.
I began with research and audience insight, identifying what families were searching for and where PBS KIDS shows could meet those needs authentically. From there, I developed practical, step-by-step resources that translated on-screen moments into off-screen connection—keeping the tone warm, empowering, and grounded in learning science.
As a content manager, I built scalable systems to support quality at volume: clear creative briefs, voice guidance, structured edits, and thoughtful feedback loops with contributors. I also reimagined how existing show content could extend into articles and activities, increasing discoverability while reducing production costs.
The result was mission-driven content that strengthened trust with caregivers, supported series promotion, and expanded the impact of PBS KIDS across platforms.

Through recurring features like Weekly Warm-Ups and Media Mondays, I created consistent entry points for educators—making it easy to discover new materials and integrate them into instruction without adding planning burden.
Each post paired inspiration with practicality: a compelling hook rooted in exploration or global thinking, followed by clear suggestions for classroom application. I worked closely with the editorial team to ensure strategic visibility for new resources while maintaining authenticity and educational value.
What began as an experiment evolved into a sustainable content model that continued after I moved on—demonstrating its effectiveness in driving engagement and awareness.

APPROACH
At DC Area Moms, I wrote and edited with one core goal: help parents feel less alone.
My articles blended lived experience with practical support—offering crafts for long afternoons, local ideas for getting out of the house, and reflections that named the emotional realities of caregiving. I aimed for writing that felt like a trusted conversation: honest, specific, and encouraging without being prescriptive.
As editor, particularly during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, I helped shape a steady cadence of relevant, timely content. Reviewing five articles per week, I refined drafts for clarity and warmth, ensuring each piece met readers where they were—overwhelmed, searching for ideas, or simply needing reassurance.
The result was content that strengthened community connection during an isolating time and created a digital space where parents could find both solutions and solidarity.
